Content creator, journalist, social media manager and lover of tea, Laura has over a decade’s experience working as a writer.
Before moving to Maui in 2009, Laura was a staff writer and deputy editor for Icons.com—where she created content and managed personal websites for professional European soccer players.
Prior to Icons, she was a trainee-turned-freelance reporter at BBC London and was a columnist at Bleacher Report from 2013-16. Laura was a frequent contributor to American Soccer Now and her work has appeared in number of other outlets, including UEFA.com, The Observer newspaper, The Irish Examiner, BT Vision magazine, FourFourTwo and travel site Lastminute.com.
Locally, she has managed the online presence of Star Noodle, Old Lahaina Luau and Leoda's Kitchen & Pie Shop, to name a few. Laura has also contributed to Maui Now, the Lahaina News and written web content for clients including, The Snorkel Store and Kā`anapali Beach Hotel.
Laura has a BA Hons degree in Creative Writing and Film and a postgraduate diploma in Newspaper Journalism from the NCTJ.
Graphic designer, online marketer, SEO/SEM strategist and cake-lover extraordinaire, Jenny brings a wealth of knowledge to the table.
Before co-founding Cake Media with Laura, Jenny was digital marketing manager for the Kā`anapali Beach Hotel, where she was responsible for the hotel’s online marketing, social media and digital campaigns. She was a speaker at the EFT Social Media Summit in San Francisco in 2016, alongside Facebook, Twitter and other industry leaders.
Previously, Jenny worked for the Lahaina Town Action Committee, where she managed social media, designed all event advertising, brochures, apparel, and organized the highly- successful Second Friday Town Parties.
With over 10 years under her belt in freelance graphic design, Jenny's skills cover a wide range of creative services, including custom illustration, print and digital advertising, logos, packaging and more.
Jenny has a BA Double Hons degree in Graphic Design and English Literature.
